BeKa ist das Pseudonym des französischen Autor*innenduos Bertrand Escaich und Caroline Roque. Die beiden lernten sich während eines afrikanischen Tanzkurses an der Uni Toulouse kennen, wo sie eigentlich Naturwissenschaften studierten. Caroline schrieb neben dem Studium Romane und Kurzgeschichten, die verfilmt wurden. Als eine ihrer Geschichten eine Auszeichnung erhielt, beschloss sie, sich ganz dem Schreiben zu widmen, und begann, zusammen mit Bertrand Comics zu schreiben.MAYA wurde 1997 auf Sardinien geboren und hat schon als Kind gerne geschrieben und Comics gezeichnet. Sie besuchte zwei Jahre lang die Europäische Manga-Akademie in der Toskana und hatte dort nicht nur Aikido-Training, sondern hat auch mehr über japanische Zeichentechniken gelernt. Diese kombiniert sie in ihrem eigenen Stil mit der europäischen Zeichenkultur.
