Terry Goodkind (*1948; ?2020) wurde in Omaha, USA, geboren und war nach seinem Studium zunächst als Rechtsanwalt tätig. 1994 erschien sein Roman »Das erste Gesetz der Magie«, der weltweit zu einem sensationellen Erfolg wurde und den Auftakt zu einer der erfolgreichsten Fantasy-Sagas aller Zeiten bildet. Er lebte bis zu seinem Tod in Maine, USA.
