Tom Gauld, geboren 1976 in Aberdeen, ist ein schottischer Cartoonist und Illustrator. Über dieses, sein erstes Kinderbuch schreibt er: "Ich habe versucht, ein Buch zu machen, das sich an drei unterschiedlichen Arten von Büchern orientiert: Die Bücher, die mir als Kind gefallen haben, die Bücher, die meinen Töchtern gefallen haben, und die Bücher, die ich jetzt als Erwachsener mag. Ich wollte, dass das Buch seine eigene, schrullige Note hat, aber auch wie eine klassische Gute-Nacht-Geschichte funktioniert." Jörg Mühle, geboren 1973 in Frankfurt am Main, studierte Illustration in Offenbach und Paris. Seit 2000 ist er Diplom-Designer und illustriert Bücher und Magazine. Er ist Mitglied der Frankfurter Ateliergemeinschaft labor, hat eine Tochter im besten Kinderbuchalter und wohnt fußläufig zum Moritz Verlag. Seine Pappbilderbücher übers Hasenkind erfreuen Kinder von Stockholm bis Tokio.
