Megan Wagner Lloyd schreibt Bilderbücher, Kinderbücher und Graphic Novels. Sie hat selbst verschiedene Allergien - unter anderem gegen Tierhaare. Als Kind hat sie sich deshalb oft vorgestellt, eine Meerjungfrau zu sein, um unter Wasser von ganz vielen Tieren ohne Fell und Federn umgeben zu sein. Ihre eigene Geschichte ist also gar nicht so anders als die von Maggie.Michelle Mee Nutter hat schon mit fünf Jahren ihre Begeisterung für Comics entdeckt, wobei sie die Bilder viel spannender fand als den Text. Heute arbeitet sie als Designerin und Illustratorin. Wenn sie nicht gerade zeichnet, geht sie Joggen, liest oder hört viel zu viele Podcasts. Zusammen mit ihrer Katze (gegen die sie zum Glück nicht allergisch ist) wohnt sie in Boston.
